A STATEMENT FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TYLER RAND ON THE A²SO’S FALL 2021 COVID PROTOCOLS
Ann Arbor, MI (July 30, 2021) — The safety and security of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra’s patrons, musicians, staff and volunteers has been of paramount importance since the COVID pandemic began. We continue to closely monitor city, state and federal developments to ensure that our approach is aligned with the latest health guidance.
In accordance with recent Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announcements, the A²2SO will update its policies on mask wearing and social distancing in close coordination with our venues and COVID Task Force. We strongly reaffirm our commitment to designing a safe experience for all.
New CDC guidance released Tuesday, July 27, 2021 recommends the wearing of face masks indoors in public in areas of substantial or high transmission. Your A²2SO is poised to move swiftly — in step with the University of Michigan’s Hill Auditorium, The Michigan Theater, and other venue partners — to provide for your safety, from the moment you purchase a concert ticket until you exit our venue parking.
As we continue conversations with our COVID Task Force, we will closely monitor the evolving situation as we plan robust health and safety measures in our careful return to the concert hall.
We sincerely thank you for your ongoing support and understanding amid these difficult times, and look forward to bringing you music again in the fall.
